Can Chelsea extend their unbeaten run at home to Brentford?

2 min read

Chelsea will host Brentford this weekend in their second consecutive London derby weekend. Chelsea will look to move up to eighth place in the league with a win.

Brentford tend to underperform at this time of year, especially in the morning games. However, they are likely to be buoyed by their 2-0 win over Chelsea in April.

However, the Chelsea that came out at Stamford Bridge was very different to the Chelsea of April. Under manager Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea are now unbeaten in four consecutive games in all competitions. Brentford, on the other hand, are winless in their last three away games.

Brentford have taken the lead in six games this season, the most in the Premier League, but they have only won two, including the West London derby at Fulham.

Can Chelsea extend their unbeaten run at home to Brentford?

Brentford finished in the top half of the Premier League table last season. They are the sixth team we have faced in all competitions this season to achieve this feat. Our record in our first five games was two wins, two draws and one defeat.

Meanwhile, a resurgent Chelsea have gained seven points and eight goals in their last three league games, which is a big improvement on the six points and seven goals they gained in their first nine games.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to continue Chelsea’s positive momentum in this weekend’s match and face former owners Tottenham Hotspur in next Monday’s game.
