New Egypt High School boys soccer team earned a convincing 3-0 win over Medford Tech on Tuesday in New Egypt.
New Egypt (3-3) dominated the game from the start and scored all three of its goals in the first half. Braeden Fischer was the star of the show, as he netted two goals for the Warriors. Jahir Mendoza also added a goal to seal the win.
Fischer opened the scoring in the 10th minute, when he received a pass from Mendoza and fired a low shot past the goalkeeper. He doubled his tally in the 25th minute, when he pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted it home. Mendoza made it 3-0 in the 35th minute, when he curled a free kick into the top corner.

New Egypt controlled the possession and tempo of the game, and did not allow Medford Tech (1-5) to create any clear chances. The Warriors defense was solid and organized, and kept a clean sheet for the second time this season.
New Egypt coach John Smith praised his team’s performance and said that they played with confidence and intensity. He also singled out Fischer for his clinical finishing and said that he was proud of his team’s improvement.
New Egypt will look to continue its winning streak when it faces Bordentown on Thursday in Bordentown. Medford Tech will try to bounce back when it hosts Florence on Friday in Medford.
